Volunteer Groups Update
The NACA Board of Directors recently approved exciting changes to some of the NACA volunteer groups. These changes will assist the Association in working towards our Strategic Plan. Both scholarship- and practice-based projects are starting to take shape as the Association works through the Strategic Plan objectives.
A synergistic, cross-functional committee has been formed, combining the Education Advisory Group and the Research & Scholarship Group. The new Research and Practice Group (RPG) will support NACA’s educational and research priorities by providing support and resources that promote student learning, practitioner development, research, and data-driven decision making to advance the field of campus activities. This project-based team will meet as needed to share progress on, define, and organize new projects.
The Association is excited to premiere the Diversity Project Group (DPG), which will assist in leading the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives for the Association. This project-based group will aid in the integration of DEIA practices throughout the Association. NACA is committed to creating an engaging environment that empowers members to intentionally center diversity, equity, and inclusion. The DPG will be made up of project-based teams, with membership fluctuating based on project, availability, and experience.
Both DPG and RPG will play a vital role in the advancement of the strategic plan as well as the field of Campus Activities. NACA is excited to offer Campus Activities professionals an opportunity to incorporate lived experiences into association resources/experiences, bring new ideas, and provide their expertise to help advance the field of Campus Activities. NACA looks to volunteers as partners in our important work, with the goal of creating college communities where everyone belongs.
