Meier Elected Chair-Elect
The National Association for Campus Activities is pleased to announce Jason Meier from Harvard College (MA) has been elected to serve as the 2025-26 Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors beginning May 1, 2025. Meier, who was elected by the Board during its recent December meeting, will transition to Chair of the Board of Directors in May 2026.
"Jason has given so much of his time and talents to NACA in a variety of roles advancing our mission and vision," says current Board of Directors Chair Courtney James. "I look forward to him serving in this new leadership role during such an important time for the Association as we boldly advance the case for Campus Activities."
Thomas Dunne, Dean of Students, Harvard College shares, "Jason is integral to co-curricular student leadership development at Harvard, and of equal importance, is widely seen as an enthusiastic and empathetic 'university citizen' who fosters a welcoming community for students, faculty, and staff. We benefit greatly from his deep commitment to student growth at the College and are thrilled by this opportunity for Jason to make substantive contributions to higher education more broadly."
"At a time when higher education is at a crossroads, and public trust in higher education has waned, Jason is the ideal leader for the Association. Deeply committed to the academic mission of higher education, Jason recognizes its primacy while valuing co-curricular activities for building community and preparing students to thrive in a pluralistic democracy," states Rakesh Khurana, Danoff Dean of Harvard College and Marvin Bower Professor of Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
"NACA has been my professional home for more than two decades and has played an instrumental role in my own professional development," reflects Jason Meier. "It means so much to be able to continue to give back and serve an organization that has given so much to me over the years. As we approach a new strategic plan, I’m excited to further work with my fellow board members, NACA volunteers, members, associates, and staff to make the case for Campus Activities and fulfil our vision – creating college communities where everyone belongs.”
Meier received his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and his master's degree from the University of Arkansas. He currently serves as the associate dean for student engagement at Harvard College having previously worked for Louisiana State University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Emerson College (MA). Throughout his career, Jason has served in a variety of roles including overseeing programming, student government, fraternity/sorority life, orientation, student organizations, and leadership programming.
Within the Association, Meier was elected to the Board of Directors as a general board member in 2022, after many years of volunteering with the summer institute teams, National Volunteer Leadership Team, and Live Events Action Group. He has also contributed scholarly research to the Journal for Campus Activities Practice & Scholarship and been published in Campus Activities Programming® Magazine. In 2021, Meier was recognized by the Association with the Patsy Morley Outstanding Programmer Award for his outstanding achievement in the field of campus activities advisement.
