Attendee Age Requirements

Information about age-related policies to attend NACA events.

All registered event attendees must be 18 years of age or older. This applies to all students (both undergraduate & graduate), campus staff, showcasing artists, exhibitors, and volunteer participants. An exception may be made by the Executive Director for a parent and their nursing child.

Policy Update: Beginning with events occurring after January 1, 2025*, the following Attendee Age Policies will apply:

  1. Associate member registered event attendees must be 18 years of age or older. This applies to all participants, showcasing artists, exhibitors, and volunteer participants.
  2. School/affiliate attendees at NACA events must be 18 years of age or older.  This applies to campus staff, students, and volunteer participants. Exceptions may be made for school/affiliate attendees:
    • Minors who are 16 or 17 years of age and a student at a higher education institution or affiliate member may be permitted to attend a NACA event that is not located on a college campus, but only with prior approval by the Executive Director. Minors who are 16 or 17 years old must be registered by their school/affiliate with a youth registration ticket.
    • Minors may be prohibited from certain activities that are age restrictive while attending NACA Live or conferences.  These will be communicated to school delegations with minors prior to attendance. If a minor is permitted to attend, the school/affiliate member shall remain responsible for the minor.
  3.  Nursing children may accompany their parent.

*Updated policy will apply to 2025 NACA Live in Philadelphia and 2025 NACA St. Paul.
